Mbps to kB/s (kilobyte per second)
1 Mbps = 125 kB/s

Welcome to our online megabits per second to kilobytes per second conversion calculator. This is just one of our data transfer unit conversion calculators which can be used to make virtually any kinds of conversions between digital data measurement units. This one is a simple online tool available and convenient for all kinds of megabit per second to kilobytes per second conversions. To start your conversion operation, please, enter the value in megabit per second (Mbps) to convert to kilobytes per second (kB/s).

How Many Kilobytes per second in a Megabit per second?

1 Kilobyte/sec is equal to (8 × Megabit/sec) / 1000.
1 Megabit/s = 125 Kilobytes/sec.

Mbps : Megabit per second (Mbit/s or Mb/s)
kB/s : Kilobyte per second
1 byte = 8 bits
1 bit = (1/8) bytes
1 bit = 0.125 bytes
1 kilobyte = 10001 bytes
1 megabit = 10002 bits
1 megabit = (1000 / 8) kilobytes
1 megabit = 125 kilobytes
1 megabit/second = 125 kilobytes/second
1 Mbps = 125 kB/s

My Huawei Dongle is giving 11.4 Mbps at the moment

I did a test on my internet speed and it said that my network is about 40 Mbps. So why are my downloads only at a speed of around 40 KB/s?

Guest 2020-07-09 00:28:50

My line now is 4G, but when i test with the speed test it got 0.24 mbps, damn slow. Its not even 1 mbps

my internet speed plan is 10mbps and im getting 50KB/s at day time, why is it so slow? at night time maximum speed is 1MB/sec.

Hello everybody. Just a quick note to everyone using this converter to check their providers stated speed against what they are actually getting. Your actual speed is less than the stated speed due to network overhead, error checking, dropped packets, etc. The stated speed is theoretical.

I pay for 200Mbps down and 100Mbps Up, here in Mexico, arround US30 Dollar, and i get more speed than i pay, this table help me to convert my speed to kB/s for some programs, TNX

2Mb/s is bad for streaming atleast you need 5Mb/s to stream not 320p but to stream 1080p 60 fps full HD.

Good information thank you so much.

Considerando que você possui um link de internet de 10 Mbps, qual seria a taxa de download em Kbytes por segundo? Quanto tempo, em minutos, você conseguiria fazer o download de um arquivo de 600 Mbytes?

Umer Latif Chauhan 2019-10-27 07:00:06

2mb is equal to 246kbs..... GOOD Speed for streaming

8Mbps = 1000kB/s = 1mB/s right.. ok. enough for me..

Thank you!!!
But now i have a new problem... I'm paying my internet provider a 3Mbps internet connection, but my download speed swings from 180 kB/s to 200 kB/s :(
So, based on this good table: If i have a 3Mbps connection, i should be downloading at (at least) 300 - 375 kB/s
I will declare war on my internet provider!!!

Well written site, & props to Alberto for catching your mistake! a kB is 1024 bits, a MB is 1024 kB, a GB is 1024MB. But most Internet Providers Cap u @ 1000/K/M/G so you get ripped off by about 24MB per GB worth of data you download: Take GTA5 download 4 PS4, 76Gb = a 1,824MB loss of data (almost 1.9 GB) ur still paying for- & now that Net Neutrality's been neutralized, they can throttle down your bandwith how they want. Ex: Time Warner Cable, a Internet Provider; (owned by Warner Bros.) was caught severely down throttling anyone connecting to a Netflix or Hulu server. Why? Because their services were in competition to Time Warner Cable. Netflix sued & was winning. Time Warner changed their name to Spectrum which made all the court documents void because they referred to what was now a "non-entity". Takeaway= never trust a entity that makes more in a year than you will in your life unless U can prove they've being honest.
