Blu-ray Storage Capacity

Blu-ray or Blu-ray Disc (BD) is an optical disc data storage format developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association. And it was officially released on 2006.

Blu-ray discs can be single-layer or dual-layer. A single-layer disc has 25 GB and a dual-layer disc has 50 GB storage capacity. That means more than five times the storage capacity of standart DVDs.

First Blu-ray movies such as "50 First Dates", "Hitch", "The Fifth Element" were released coinciding with the release of the first Blu-ray DVD player.
